PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS PUISI RAKYAT MELALUI TEKNIK MEDIA GAMBAR PADA SISWA KELAS VII SMP N 2 TALUK KUANTAN

Abstrak

This study aims to describe the improvement of results and
processes in learning folk poetry writing skills through image
media techniques for seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2
Teluk Kuantan. This type of research is a classroom action
research with the research subjects of class VII students of
SMP Negeri 2 Teluk Kuantan consisting of 27 students. The
data analysis technique used qualitative and quantitative
methods. The results of data analysis concluded that the
average score of the test results for the skills to write news
texts through the image media technique in pre-cycle was
53.56, cycle I was 69.13 and cycle II was 77.03. Student
learning completeness increased, at the pre-cycle stage the
students completed 29.92% (7 people), in the first cycle
66.66% (19 people), and in the second cycle it increased
again to 92.6% (25 people). The learning process of folk
poetry writing skills through image media techniques
increased from cycle I which was in the medium category to
the high category in cycle II for student activities, while for
teacher activity it increased from cycle I which was high
category to very high category in cycle II. This can be seen
from the enthusiasm, activeness and persistence as well as
the responsibility of teachers and students in the learning
process of folk poetry writing skills. Based on the results of
the research and discussion above, it can be concluded that
the application through the image media technique in
learning folk poetry writing skills can improve the results
and learning process of the seventh grade students of SMP
Negeri 2 Teluk Kuantan
